SCCC members and guests are invited to a Pot Luck Dinner at a New Venue: It will be held at the South Venice Yacht Club on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 6:00 for drinks and hors d‘oeuvres; 6:30 for dinner. Sign up in the club house, or if you cannot, you may call or text Janet Bryars at 402-212-7392. Please know the exact dish you will bring and how many people are in your group.

This is a BYO alcohol function; soft drinks, N-A beer, and ice will be provided.

There is a $5 cash per person charge at the door to cover cost to rent this facility.

The address for GPS is 4425 Yacht Club Drive, S. Venice 34293. (FYI: members rent space for Kayaks, aka “yachts”—it looks like a fun membership and very reasonable)

For general directions if not into GPS: From the croquet court, it’s about 5 miles; driving will take 15-20 minutes from court to SVYC.

Take Pinebrook Rd. South to Center Rd, turn right, west. Next turn left (south) on hiway 41 (Tamiami Trail S). Then turn right onto Baffin Drive (between Seminole Dr and Alligator Dr). Continue on Baffin, crossing Shamrock Rd as it turns into Yacht Club Drive.

Parking and entrance are in the back, behind the white building.

Enter the narrow lane paved with pavers where a sign says Members Only. Parking is to the right and is a bit precarious: Plenty of unmarked space on grass. Please pull in and park facing out if possible, so all pot luckers will fit and will find their way out if dark or foggy. There are some potential hazards: A few vertical poles and there is, of course, sea water. So use care when parking. We’ll need a volunteer with a flashlight to help exiting.
